PLEASE NOTE: Canyon is a very creamy clay. Because of our small batch production, the viscosity (thickness) of the product can vary slightly from batch to batch. Rest assured the product hasn’t melted or otherwise been compromised if it shifts in the jar while in transit to you.

Our Canyon Styling Clay has been formulated to bring you a high performance and versatile clay. Canyon starts with a creamy, smooth scoop and breakdown, then settles into the hair with a dry tackiness that is perfect for finger-combed short/choppy/messy hairstyles or for added volume and texture in longer hair. It’s got a firm hold to keep your hair in place and matte finish to keep you looking great throughout the day. Canyon rinses out easily with water or just a light shampoo.

🌱 Vegan friendly with no animal-derived ingredients.

Canyon Styling Clay comes in a 4 oz/ 113 g plastic jar.

**Please note that the jar includes an inner disc liner to help prevent spilling of the product when opening after shipping, as contents may shift during transit to you. The liner may be discarded.

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Kaolin, Bentonite, Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed) Oil, Polysorbate 80, Fragrance, Sunflower Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid

For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs

Scoop out a small amount of the product, break it down and spread in the palms of your hands. Then apply evenly to damp or dry hair. Style as desired.

For increased hold and texture, apply a small amount of product to damp hair, then blow dry. Apply more product as needed to finish your style.

Canyon Styling Clay rinses out mostly with warm water and washes out completely with shampoo.

Oro - slightly sweet, earthy scent with notes of sugarcane, tobacco, and sandalwood rounded out by notes of leather and oakmoss.

Clarity - Scented with the aroma chemical Iso E Super. Overall a highly neutral, soft, and pleasant aroma, with smooth, woody, and amber aspects. This scent choice is great for layering with other fragrances or for a virtually unscented option.

Great clay that doesn't rip out hair

I've used several hair styling clays before, because I enjoy having a textured look that's low shine. Several clay products I've used before have achieved that result, but literally have ripped out hair strands while I applied and styled my hair. The Canyon Clay is great because it's a clay that's very pliable and creamy, and just a little bit (at a time) goes a long way. I'd shower and dry my hair, apply some Texture Spray and heat (to get some volume), and then lock everything in with the clay and some cool air. If you need to put some more, do so a little bit at a time. This clay is easily my favorite I've used so far for my new hairstyle.

Very versatile clay, smells great.

I have very long thick/wavy hair and I get the most out of this stuff by applying to completely dry roots first (for better hold/more matte finish) then moistening the ends and then adding a touch more clay to them. On damp hair It actually does a great job of tightening up waves/curls. The smell is great, like sandalwood.

Fantastic Clay

This clay is fantastic for a water based product. Gives my hair body and hold all day. Can be a little grippy to apply, which I don't see as a problem. Washes out easily and my hair feels great afterwards.

Better Than Original

Love the scent (Kathy you rock at this). My hair is naturally dry and wavy. So the first version of the clay was unpleasant to apply. After a couple attempts on different days I gave in and moved it along to someone else to try. This time around, I will say it's easier to apply. However, the end result is similar. Which to Lodestar's credit, is a good thing. They've improved the original in application and scoop, while not really changing the end result. Sadly for me - too dry still.

4.5 product, pretty damn good

I enjoyed the styling, but it does have a bit of tackiness to it. Out of the jar easily. Breaking down I could feel the stickiness. Into the hair well.
