Apex Matte Cream draws inspiration from our bestselling Río Texture Cream. We added activated charcoal to give the product a bit more grit, dryness, and texture, and we varied the combination of waxes and clays to produce a product that remains exceptionally smooth and easy to use but offers increased hold and endurance over its predecessor.

Apex is easy to use in all hair lengths, delivering a lightweight and airy texture when used in dry hair, or tighter controlled hairstyles when used in damp hair. It’s got a medium to firm hold to keep your hair in place and keep you looking great throughout the day. Need more hold? Use a bit more product to dial it up.

For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Scoop out a small amount of the product, break it down just enough to spread in the palms of your hands. Then apply evenly to damp or dry hair. Style as desired.

For increased hold and texture, apply a small amount of product to damp hair, then blow dry. Apply more product as needed to finish your style.

Apex rinses out almost entirely with warm water and washes out completely with shampoo.

Astra - A modern, fresh, clean masculine scent with notes of crisp bergamot, fresh lavender and geranium, spicy peppercorn, with a base of rich amber, tonka, and earthy vetiver.

Clarity - Scented with the aroma chemical Iso E Super. Overall a highly neutral, soft, and pleasant aroma, with smooth, woody, and amber aspects. This scent choice is great for layering with other fragrances or for a virtually unscented option.

If you're looking for a product with a strong, lasting hold and absolutely zero shine, this is it. APEX keeps my hair styled perfectly all day long without feeling heavy or greasy. The matte finish is the best I've found. Exactly what I was looking for!

Not a cream in any sense

Honestly wondered if they sent me the wrong product because it's nothing like a cream, it has a dry, gritty clay-like texture. I was expecting /some/ of this based on the description but this product has the most tackiness I've ever seen in a styling product and makes it hard to apply to medium length hair. If you're looking for a cream, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a drier clay, also look elsewhere.

Sorry to hear that Apex wasn’t what you expected. It’s a high-hold clay-cream hybrid that offers a dry, textured finish — quite different from a traditional soft styling cream. We completely understand that preference varies by hair type and style.

Excellent product.

Excellent holding matte paste that is truly matte. Medium-firm hold while still leaving my hair touchable and yet able to be restyled throughout the day. This will become one of my daily use products.

My go to

I usually am picky when it comes to hair products for my fine hair. Ingredients and how much a company truly cares about what they stand by in their product. Took a look at reddit and decided to take a shot. No regrets at all from my months of use. I love how it feels on applying and the easy styling. I was worried about drying my hair out and nope no dandruff type flakes or itch. Easy to wash out too! Definitely recommend and look forward to purchasing another. Keep on the great work team

Great product

This is a really great product for those looking for medium hold and matte finish. In my mid-fade, short hairstyle, the hold is good all day. It scoops out very easily and applies very easily. I was looking for a new product after one I'd been using was discontinued and am so happy i bought this on recommendation from the Reddit sub.
